ABOUT THIS COURSE
XCAL’s XCarry: MD/DC Refresher is an 8-hour refresher course designed for individuals renewing their Maryland Wear and Carry Permit and/or District of Columbia Concealed Pistol License.
Building on the same comprehensive instruction offered through our XCarry: MD/DC Refresher program, this refresher course reviews the essential knowledge and skills needed to continue carrying responsibly and confidently in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Experienced XCAL instructors will revisit firearm safety, applicable Maryland and District of Columbia firearm and self-defense laws, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, safe handling practices, and handgun fundamentals. Students will also complete the required range training and qualification portion of the course.

- Legal Aftermath and Consequences
- Maryland Firearms Laws
- District of Columbia Firearms Laws
- Maryland Self-Defense Law
- District of Columbia Self-Defense Law
- Concealment Options and Equipment
- Firearms Range Practical and Qualification
This 8-hour course consists of two required four-hour sessions and is intended specifically as a refresher for Maryland and District of Columbia concealed carry permit holders.
Both sessions must be attended to complete the course.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Prerequisite: Previous Maryland Wear and Carry and/or D.C. Concealed Pistol License training
- Gear Required:
- Pistol with at least one magazine; rentals available
- Eye and hearing protection
- Recommended Gear: Pen and paper
- Dress: Closed-toe shoes (no heels) and comfortable, appropriate clothing.
