ABOUT THIS COURSE
This dynamic three-hour course is designed to provide more advanced skills and abilities related to medical treatment and management, over and above the bleeding control and patient movement techniques that were taught in the Beginner Class. Students will learn intermediate medical skills, such as airway management, chest and back penetrating trauma and hypothermia, etc. This course builds upon the foundational techniques from the Beginner Class and will involve more hands-on applications in small-scale classroom scenarios. The goal is to take the medical treatment applications from both classes and enhance and refine your Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) skills through hands-on practical applications. Ultimately, participants will perform multiple scenarios that focus on quick and accurate medical interventions tailored to the conditions and wounding patterns of the individuals involved. With each scenario increasing in complexity, students will practice decisive medical actions in the correct sequence, building their competence and confidence in life-saving TECC applications.
Throughout the course, participants will alternate roles as responders and victims, ensuring a well-rounded and realistic training experience. By the end of the session, students will emerge feeling empowered and prepared to tackle critical emergency scenarios with precision and purpose. Completion of this course includes a Certificate of Completion, making students eligible to advance to the Advanced Active Bystander – High Threat Scenario Class.
