ABOUT THIS COURSE
Discover the fascinating inner workings of the AR-15 platform in our engaging two-session AR-chitect: Build Your Own AR class. If you’ve ever been curious about how the AR-15 platform works, or even considered building one but don’t want to take that leap alone, then this class is perfect for you. In our two-session class, we will have an experienced team of gunsmiths and instructors guide students through the process of building your perfect rifle, an Aero Precision AR-15.
Day 1: The course kicks off in the classroom with a brief history of the rifle and an exploration of the myths and facts surrounding the AR platform. Together, we’ll break down what you want to get out of your rifle and help answer questions about what will be some good options for parts to use to achieve your goal.
Day 2: The excitement builds as you get hands-on with the build process. You will be following a step-by-step process where you are putting the rifle together with your own hands with as little intervention from the instructors as possible. We want to ensure that you come away from this class with as much understanding of how to assemble an AR-15 as possible. Once the build is complete, we’ll head to the range to zero your rifle with your preferred optic.
By the end of the course, students will have gained the skills and knowledge needed to build or fix their very own rifle. Plus, every student will receive a selection of new tools to aid in future builds and the satisfaction of owning a custom-built rifle made exclusively by you, for you!
SUMMARY OF BUILD
The rifle will be a complete Aero Precision AR-15 rifle with a 12.7-inch handguard and 16-inch barrel. There will be some availability for color options and different furniture, which will be worked out with students prior to the class and before parts are ordered. Some parts will be standardized to streamline the education process, but each student will leave with the rifle they built during the class.
Not only does the student keep their rifle, but they leave with the necessary skills to modify that rifle or build different ones. Due to ATF Compliance and differences in state laws, this class will only be available for Virginia State Residents.
