Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is primarily a grappling-based martial art with a strong emphasis on subduing and controlling another person regardless of the other person’s physical attributes. This is accomplished by using proper framing techniques and understanding body movement. Our classes are split into Gi (traditional kimono with a belt) and No-Gi (form-fitting athletic attire), with distinctions between practices in each format.
This Open Mat session is open to all and will have a facilitator present for any questions. No new techniques will be taught. Regular training classes will resume on August 22nd.
