Martial Arts Private Instructor
A lifelong martial artist, David has been training in one discipline or another since the late 80s. A prior service US Marine that coached the All-Marine MMA team out of Camp Lejeune between combat tours to Afghanistan, he has a history as a trainer as much as he is an accomplished competitor.
With over 300 competition matches and a win-by-submission rate of 95%, his focus is on ending an altercation emphatically. Some notable accolades include being voted Tournament Coach of the Year for 2017 by Dirty White Belt Radio, multiple appearances on Fight to Win Pro, wins at Show the Art Finishers series, the Rickson Cup, Jiu-Jitsu Kumite, US Grappling, and other local events. He has also authored three separate best-selling tutorials on BJJ Fanatics and has guest appeared on many podcasts.
His modern grappling approach, mixed with years of professional fighting experience, gives our members at XCAL a fresh perspective on the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
