SAFETY REGULATIONS
- Prior to entering the premises, ensure that all firearms are cased or holstered. If you do not have a case for your firearm, do not bring the uncased firearm into the building.
- Do not uncase or unholster firearms in the lobby/waiting area for any reason.
- Do not unholster/uncase your firearm at the counter without asking a member of the Range staff.
- When handling rental firearms at the counter, ensure the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction.
- Unsafe behavior will not be tolerated, and violators will be given a warning to correct their behavior immediately or be asked to leave the premises.
FIREARM AND AMMUNITION PROTOCOL
- Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.
- Never point the muzzle at anything that you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot.
- Know your target and what is beyond
- Proper sights are mandatory for all firearms.
- All ammunition is subject to inspection. Use of tracer, steel core, armor piercing, birdshot, buckshot, and incendiary ammo is strictly prohibited.
- The usage of shotguns with a Bird head/Raptor style grip is strictly prohibited. Additionally, only the use of slugs is allowed for shotgun purposes, regardless of gauge.
- Our Range is rated for all rounds up to 50BMG. In the event you would like to shoot 50BMG on our range with your personal firearm, please only use frangible.
RANGE PROCEDURES
- Before accessing the shooting ranges, all individuals are required to view the Range Safety & Etiquette video and sign the Range Use Agreement/Waiver either in-person or online.
- Valid government-issued photo identification must be provided at the onsite facility upon arrival.
- Pregnant women should consult with their doctors before entering a shooting range.
- Absolutely no illicit substance or alcohol consumption prior to or during shooting. XCAL retains the authority to decline any transaction or expel individuals from the premises who violate this policy.
- Instruction from outside sources is strictly prohibited.
SHOOTING RANGE REQUIREMENTS
- Prior to accessing the range, it is required to wear safety glasses and ear protection. For minors, ear muffs and plugs must be used in combination.
- In the event of a cease-fire, place your firearm on the table and step out of the booth. Do not attempt to clear, make safe or manipulate your firearm in any way.
- Crossing the firing line is strictly prohibited.
- Wall and target carrier shooting are prohibited. Additionally, firing at targets on other lanes is not allowed, and individuals will be held responsible for any resulting damages.
- Anyone who is unable to control their fire may be asked to vacate the premises.
For center-fire rifles and rifle-caliber pistols.
- In the event of a malfunction that cannot be resolved, kindly leave the firearm positioned facing downrange on the shooting bench and seek immediate assistance from the RSO.
- XCAL does not have a fire rate restriction, however you must maintain well aimed fire.
- If you plan to retrieve your own brass, please inform the RSO and only collect brass from the start of your bay to the edge of the firing line.
- Smoking, vaping, and consuming food or beverages are not allowed in the shooting range.
- Hip-firing/ bent-elbow shooting is not allowed on the range.
• HOLSTER AND SLING WORK
- Holster and sling work is authorized on the range.
- You MUST move the table to the side.
- If all shooters do not have a proper holster or sling, you cannot move the table to the side.
- Slung weapons are not allowed to be walked out of the lane.
- When working transitions, ensure you empty your primary before swapping to your secondary.
- Ensure your weapon is on safe when you are not actively aiming.
- While we encourage customers to train these skills, our Range staff reserve the right to instruct customers to stop holster/sling work for any reason.
AGE RESTRICTIONS AND MINOR POLICY
- The minimum age to shoot on the range with a parent is 8 years old.
- The minimum age to check into the range without a parent is 18 years old.
- Any shooters under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the range by their parent. The parent must fill out their waiver and check in with the range staff at Range Check-In on their first visit. Once this has been done, range staff will make a phone call to the parent on any subsequent visits if the minor comes to the range with another adult.
MUTUAL RESPECT
We value your safety above all else. We ask that you always follow our safety rules while using the shooting range. If you accidentally break any rules, we will give you a friendly warning. If you continue to not follow our safety guidelines, we may ask you to leave without a refund. If there are any damages to the range caused by your actions, you may also be held responsible. Please understand that we reserve the right to refuse service or the use of the range to anyone for any reason. Thank you for helping keep XCAL safe and enjoyable for everyone.
