ABOUT THIS COURSE
The XCAL Introduction to Youth Rifle course is a class structured for children from ages 8-17. The course is designed around the bolt action rifle for those students who wish to gain a strong foundation in rifle operation, safety and shooting fundamentals. It is the perfect class for those younger shooters who have never had formal instruction. This course provides a solid foundation on which to build an enjoyable future in shooting sports.
This class will cover safety, nomenclature, loading and unloading, common malfunctions, stance, grip and sights. There will also be a 50-round course of fire to familiarize students and for instructors to evaluate them.
Instructor to student ratio is 2:1 to ensure each student is learning the proper techniques all while having a safe and enjoyable experience.
***Firearms are included in the cost of the class. Students must only purchase ammunition.***
Ammunition and protective gear are available in the XCAL Store.
Virginia law requires a participant to be either a U.S. Citizen with a valid government photo ID (Driver’s License, Real ID or U.S. Passport); a naturalized citizen with a valid government photo ID; or a Permanent U.S. Resident with a valid government photo ID.
