Enhance your martial arts knowledge with Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes at XCAL. Our classes will teach you how to mitigate an opponent’s grips and fight through a deficit when grips are employed.
Get ready to learn and master challenging new skills with XCAL’s No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our classes offer greater mobility and less friction; therefore, they have a faster feel.
Without grips to clothing hindering movement or threatening submissions, it can appear as if there are fewer options for No-Gi grappling. Instead, there are an equal number of different submissions allowed in this format that are not allowed in the Gi class, like twisting leg attacks.
As with Gi classes, striking and slamming will be addressed but not utilized in live sparring. Attire should be form-fitting with no pockets or hanging/baggy items that can accidentally snag a limb of your own or a training partner. Our No-Gi classes provide a unique and exciting way to stay fit and active while learning distinct submission strategies.
