Gunstructor Pistol Building: Striker-Fired Semi-Automatic 9mm Luger Course
In this immersive course, students will be taught the process of constructing their own compact pistol chamber 9mm Luger. Utilizing top-of-the-line components sourced from Grit Grips and XCAL, participants will have the opportunity to assemble their pistols from scratch, acquiring valuable hands-on experience in firearm assembly, customization and upkeep. Upon completion of the course, students will leave with a fully operational pistol that they personally created, equipped with the skills and assurance to undertake similar projects independently. This course caters to both firearms enthusiasts and individuals who thrive in practical, interactive learning environments, offering a unique combination of applied skills and comprehensive knowledge.

Ammunition and protective gear are available in the XCAL Store. Virginia law requires a participant to be either a U.S. Citizen with a valid government photo ID (Driver’s License, Real ID or U.S. Passport); a naturalized citizen with a valid government photo ID; or a Permanent U.S. Resident with a valid government photo ID. Due to ATF Compliance and differences in state laws, this class is only available for Virginia State Residents.
- Prerequisite: Open to 21 years of age or older, Virginia state residents only
- Gear Required: Do NOT bring a firearm to this class. We will be building the gun you use.
- Recommended Gear: Pen and paper
- Dress: Closed-toe shoes (no heels) and comfortable, appropriate clothing you don’t mind getting a little oily
