ABOUT THIS COURSE
XCAL’s XCarry Concealed Carry is a comprehensive course that provides students with proof of competency and range qualification documentation for Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. This course provides an understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of handling firearms. The course covers topics such as safe gun storage, firearm laws, marksmanship fundamentals and more. Our experienced instructors guide students through the material so that they can be confident when carrying a concealed carry weapon.
By the end of the course, students will learn how to handle and store a firearm safely, understand the rights and responsibilities in regard to gun ownership, improve their marksmanship and more. The course is structured so that, by the end, students are comfortable and confident carrying their concealed carry weapons.
Handgun fundamentals will be explained to ensure students are comfortable in their decision to carry concealed in any of these three jurisdictions. There will be a 100-round practical course of fire. Afterward, students can receive remedial training if needed.

This three-day course meets and exceeds the required 20-hour classroom and two-hour range qualification for the Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit, the Maryland Wear and Carry License permit application, and the D.C. Concealed Pistol License. The course structure is three consecutive sessions with a working lunch and a range firearms training and shooting qualification course.

Virginia law requires a participant to be either a U.S. Citizen with a valid government photo ID (Driver’s License, Real ID or U.S. Passport); a naturalized citizen with a valid government photo ID; or a Permanent U.S. Resident with a valid government photo ID.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Prerequisite: None
- Gear Required:
- Pistol with at least one magazine; rentals available
- Eye and hearing protection
- Ammunition Required: 150 rounds FMJ or Frangible
- Recommended Gear: Pen and paper
- Dress: Closed-toe shoes (no heels) and comfortable, appropriate clothing.
